Zeballos and Granollers occupied Halle

The Argentine and Spanish won the doubles tournament after defeating German Tim Puetz and Australian Michael Venus in the final 6-4, 5-7 (5) and 14-12.

The duo formed by the Argentine Horace Zeballos and the Spanish Marcell Granollers crowned today Germany ng Halle’s ATP 500after defeating Tim Puetz and Michael Venus in the final 6-4, 5-7 (5) and 14-12.

The new champions they remained one step away from the last Roland Garros, where they advanced to the semi-finals and eventually fell to Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek. With this title, the 37-year-old Argentine, number 4 in the doubles world ranking, achieved his 19th specialty degree. For his part, Granollers, 36, won 24 titles in the pair.

The couple from Mar del Plata and the Catalan have already established themselves in two tournaments on the hard courts –Canada 2019 Y Cincinnati 2021- and another four in brick dust –Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro Y Rome in 2020 and Madrid 2021-. In addition, they remained at the gates in the semifinals of Australia Open and lost in the final Wimbledon last year.
