Russian tennis player Ludmila Samsonova said that she had no problem communicating with Ukrainian athletes at tournaments.
On Monday, Samsonova lost to Romania’s Ana Bogdan in the first round of the Wimbledon tournament.
– I have no problem with Ukrainian tennis players. I’m always happy, smiling, saying hello. No problem at all.
I think it was difficult for all Russian and Belarusian players to accept last year’s ban. But after this announcement, I had the best feedback, maybe in my entire career. When they said this year that we could play, it was incredible.
It was a bit cold today, so the ball didn’t fly as fast. But it’s always nice to play here. I would be very happy to stay here and play,” Samsonova said at a press conference.
