All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) executive director Sally Bolton has called it a good decision to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to play at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in 2023.
At the end of March, the AELTC, which is the organizer of Wimbledon, announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the competition in a neutral status and under “certain conditions”.
Earlier, Bolton announced that several Russian and Belarusian tennis players have already signed neutrality declarations to play at Wimbledon 2023.
We think it’s the right decision for this year’s tournament. All of these athletes compete under neutral status. They all signed the declaration, everything went very well, quotes Bolton Yahoo News .
Wimbledon takes place in London (United Kingdom) from July 3 to 16.
