The Ukrainian lost the first set, but won the next two
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk advanced to the second round Wimbledon 2023.
At the start of the competition, Marta sensationally knocked out the eighth racket of the world Maria Sakkari from Greece. The Ukrainian lost the first set dry, but managed to win the next two.
In the second set, Kostyuk lost two of her own serves, but got three breaks. In the final set, Martha managed a spurt of five games won in a row, after which she brought the match to victory.
Recall that the fight between Kostyuk and Sakkari was postponed from Tuesday due to rain. In the second round, Martha’s opponent will be the winner of the match between Alison Risk (USA) and Paula Badosa (Spain).
