Safiullin defeated Bautista-Agut in five sets in the opening match at Wimbledon

Russian tennis player Romain Safiullin qualified for the second round of the Wimbledon tournament.

In his opening match, Safiullin beat the world’s 23rd-ranked Spaniard Roberto Bautista-Agut. The match lasted 4 hours 3 minutes and ended with the score of 2:6, 7:6 (9:7), 6:7 (4:7), 6:4, 7:5. Safiullin completed 17 innings from start to finish.

In the second round, the Russian will meet the French Corentin Moutet.
