Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev may surprise in the Wimbledon second round match, although the favorite is Andrey Rublev, Andrey Olkhovsky, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments in mixed doubles, told RB Sport.
Rublev (7th seed) in the first round of the tournament on Monday beat Australian Max Purcell with a score of 6:3, 7:5, 6:4, Karatsev was stronger than Frenchman Luc van Asch – 6:7 (4:7), 6:4, 6:2, 6:4.
– Andriy is probably the favorite in this game. He is a more stable player and ranks higher. But Karatsev can bring a surprise. Aslan is a very dangerous opponent, when he’s confident, he has an arsenal of all shots, he has speed, and he’s not afraid to step up to the net. For me, it’s a very interesting pair, and I expect a very interesting match,” Olkhovsky said.
Rublev and Karatsev previously held a personal meeting, during which Aslan turned out to be stronger.
