Former Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky told RB Sport that Daniil Medvedev it will be difficult to play against the French Adrian Mannarino in the second round of Wimbledon.
In the first round, the Russian, seeded under the 3rd number, beat Briton Arthur Fury with the score 7:5, 6:4, 6:3. In the second round, Medvedev will face Mannarino.
– Mannarino is a very dangerous opponent for the second round, especially on grass. In the previous match, Daniil recently lost to Mannarino in Hertogenbosch. The Frenchman plays well on this surface.
Medvedev may have an advantage if the match is played on a large field with room to run. I think the courts here are not as fast as in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, that’s more of a plus for Daniil. And if they play on a small pitch, it will be much more difficult. And we have to admit that the opponent is already very serious for the start of the tournament,” Olkhovsky said.
