Recall that Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, since 1877, organizing most of its matches on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (Wimbledon, Great Britain).
The competition’s main draws traditionally take place over a two-week period in late June – early July.
The tournament organizer is the British Lawn Tennis Association. Since 1988, Wimbledon has been the only Grand Slam tournament held on grass.
Wimbledon television broadcasts have been broadcast since 1937 (since 1967 – in color). The tournament is covered by more than 2,500 TV journalists from 80 broadcasters, the main one being the BBC. Live broadcasts are carried out from nine courts in the first week of the tournament (more than in any other Grand Slam tournament) and from seven courts in the second.
In 2022 Serbian Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan became the winners of Wimbledon.
This season, the London tournament, which takes place on grass, started on July 3.
