Russian Tennis Federation (FTR) Vice President Alexei Selivanenko told that Daniil Medvedev deservedly beat the Hungarian Marton Fucovich in the match of the third round of the Wimbledon tournament.
Medvedev qualified for the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon, beating Fucovic with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:4, 6:4. The meeting lasted 3 hours and 4 minutes.
– There was good tennis on both sides, with lots of good draws. From the second set, Medvedev led the game, converted break points at the right time, and took the match to the end. The match was interesting to watch, as a result, Daniel deservedly won.
His outlook, like that of everyone who has gone further, is the same: whether or not they win the next game – and therefore every game. He is ready like anyone who reaches this level, Selivanenko told .
For Medvedev, this is a repeat of the best result at Wimbledon: he had already reached the fourth round of the tournament in 2021.
The Russian’s next opponent will be determined by the results of the match between 16th seeded American Tommy Paul and Czech Jiri Legechka.
