On July 9, Svitolina defeated Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in three matches.
“I think it’s the happiest moment of my life. It was unbelievably hard. I can’t complain, I fought until the end,” Svitolina said after the match.
To reach the semi-finals, Svitolina will face the first racket in the world, the representative of Poland, Iga Swiatek.
Recall that the current Wimbledon champion is Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, originally from Moscow.
