Czech tennis player Jiri Legechka said without the injury he would have played much better against the Russian Daniel Medvedev in the fourth round of the Wimbledon tournament.
On Monday, Medvedev reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals after Legechka’s denial 6-4, 6-2 in favor of the Russian.
– I have trouble finding the words, because, of course, that’s not how I wanted to end the game.
Of course we should give credit to Daniil because he had, I would say, another solid game, but I still felt that if I could show my maximum level then the game would have gone much better for me.
But, unfortunately, during the game the injury got a lot worse and I couldn’t play at the highest level,” Legechka told a press conference.
In the quarterfinals, Medvedev will face US Representative Christopher Eubanks.
