In the 1/8 final match, Alcaraz beat Italian Matteo Berrettini, Wimbledon 2021 finalist and former world No. 6. The match ended with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:3, 6:3 in favor of Alcaraz.
The duration of the match was 2 hours and 53 minutes. Alcaraz played four serves from start to finish, committed six double faults and managed to convert 4 break points out of 16 won. Berrettini, on the other hand, had nine aces, had no double faults and was able to achieve one break point from three won.
For having reached the semi-finals of the “Grand Slam” on the grass courts of Wimbledon, Alcaraz will play with the sixth racket in the world, the Dane Holger Rune (6).
