Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva may soon change sports citizenship to French, according to Tennis World USA.
The 16-year-old lives and trains in France.
Earlier, Andreeva’s compatriot Varvara Gracheva also changed her citizenship to French.
On Monday, Andreeva failed to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals, losing to American Madison Keys.
It was previously reported that Andreeva was fined $8,000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct” during her game with the Keys. The Russian woman is expected to win over $260,000 for reaching the fourth round of the tournament.
Andreeva is ranked 102nd by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
