Djokovic on the Wimbledon final with Alcaraz: “Probably people have been waiting for this match since the very beginning of the tournament”

Multiple Serbian Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic hinted that early Wimbledon fans were waiting for his showdown with Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the tournament final.

Djokovic beat Italian Yannick Sinner in the semi-finals, and Alcaraz was stronger than Russian Daniil Medvedev.

– Probably, according to fans, this is the most anticipated final. Alcaraz is so young, but now he’s incredibly stable, even on grass. I don’t think many people expected him to play so well on grass because his game is made for clay or slower hard courts. But it does an incredibly good job of adapting to coatings.

I think it’s a wonderful feature. Adaptability is one of my greatest strengths. I could constantly develop, adapt and adjust my game according to the tasks.

Alcaraz is an amazing player and a great guy off the pitch. He respects everyone, I can’t say anything bad about him.

We’re both fit, we’re both playing well. It will be the biggest challenge that can be right now from any point of view: physical, psychological, emotional. Yes, I have more experience in Grand Slam or Wimbledon finals. However, he is very motivated. He is young and hungry,” Djokovic told a press conference.

Djokovic is a seven-time Wimbledon winner. Alcaraz will play in the final of this tournament for the first time in his career.
