Athletistic/Tennis. Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, ranked third in the world and hard court expert, answered the question of what he considers the most significant achievement of the 2023 season on his least favorite surfaces: winning the Masters tournament on clay in Rome or leave for the semi-finals of Wimbledon. Both results were achieved for the first time by a Russian.

“I don’t know. It’s hard to say, the Masters is an important tournament, but the Grand Slam is more important. It’s a best-of-three match, it’s the most difficult form of tennis. But the Masters is also very important. Now I would say they are equal, but let’s see if I can achieve better Grand Slam results than now. On clay, apart from Roland Garros, it will not be possible to do better, because the Masters is the second most important tournament after the Grand Slam “Let’s see where I can do better – here or at Roland Garros,” Medvedev told a press conference.

In the semifinals of Wimbledon, Medvedev was defeated by Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaras with the score 3:6, 3:6, 3:6.
