Famous Russian tennis player and coach Andrey Chesnokov called the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz favorite of the last Wimbledon match, but noted the experience and the cunning of the Serb Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic beat Italian Yannick Sinner in the semi-finals, and Alcaraz was stronger than Russian Daniil Medvedev. The Grand Slam final will take place on Sunday.
– In the final, the favorite is Alcaraz. Djokovic will be able to find what Medvedev didn’t find in the game to beat the Spaniard. I think it will be a very good game. Djokovic will play a little differently in this game: on the first serve he will be more stable than Medvedev. Alcaraz makes sharp blows, blows where there is no player. He is psychologically liberated. The Spaniard is the favorite, but Novak has incredible experience and cunning,” Chesnokov told Metaratings.ru.
Djokovic is a seven-time Wimbledon winner. Alcaraz will play in the final of this tournament for the first time in his career.
