Former German tennis player Boris Becker has called Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz the new king of tennis.
Alcaraz beat Serbian Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final – 1:6, 7:6 (8:6), 6:1, 3:6, 6:4
“I think we have a new king who overthrew the old king in a very exciting ending. After the first set I thought Novak would win. Alcaraz deserved to win, he was the best.
Novak will have to talk to his family and his team and we will see what happens. He is 36 years old but he is still in good shape. It’s not a question of age, it’s a question of motivation,” Becker quoted Tennis World USA.
The victory was Alcaraz’s first at Wimbledon and second at the Grand Slam tournaments, the Spaniard had already won the US Open in 2022.
