Dayana won the first set, but could not bring the meeting to victory
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya lost Jasmine Paolini in the second round of the tournament WTA 250 V Palermo. The fight lasted almost two and a half hours.
In the first set, Dayana made three breaks and won 6:2. In the second installment, the Ukrainian was leading 3:0, but gave her opponent two games on her serve and lost 4:6.
In the decisive third set, Paolini, who received the fifth seed, was stronger with a score of 6:2.
For the entire match, Yastremskaya converted 4 out of 6 break points, made two aces and made seven double faults.
It was Yastremskaya’s first tournament since the 2023 Wimbledon qualification, where she lost to Swiss representative Celine Naef in the final.
