Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal will not participate in the US Open (US Open), follows from the lists of candidates on the tournament website.
The 37-year-old has not entered the court since January 18, when he lost in the second round of the Australian Open. In June, Nadal underwent lower back surgery.
Earlier, the 22-time Grand Slam winner said he plans to retire next season.
The US Open will be held in New York from August 28 to September 10, seven Russians are included in the men’s part of the tournament draw.
