Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev at the tournament in Båstad (Sweden), he maintains the high level of play he showed at Wimbledon, says vice-president of the Russian Tennis Federation Alexei Selivanenko.
On Friday, Rublev, seeded under the second number, defeated Germany’s representative Alexander Zverev (5) in the quarterfinals of the tournament with a score of 6:2, 6:3.
– Rublev continued to play at the same high level he played at Wimbledon. In the match with Zverev, he acted confidently, made early breaks and did not give his opponent a chance to come back into action. Andrey played in a style that overcomes all opponents.
We cannot say that Alexandre showed his best tennis. Rublev won a big victory over a high-class opponent who didn’t show his full potential, Selivanenko told Vprognoze.ru.
To reach the final, Rublev will play with Argentinian Francisco Cherundolo (seeded fourth).
