Russian tennis player Maria Timofeva shared her emotions after the first career Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) title.
On Sunday, the 19-year-old Russian beat Ukrainian Katerina Beindl 6:3, 3:6, 6:0 in the final of the tournament in Budapest.
This is all new to me. It’s like a dream, because in fact I shouldn’t be there, but I am. I’m just very happy and grateful,” Timofeeva quotes on the WTA website.
Timofeev takes the 246th place in the world ranking. This season, she has reached the finals of International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments in Tunisia, Slovenia and Egypt.
