Seeded under number one, Sviontek lost to Svitolina 5:7, 7:6 (7:5), 2:6.
“Unfortunately, after the match with Elina Svitolina, Iga received a lot of negative comments. This is detrimental to him”, quotes Swiatek Rzeczpospolita.
Svitolina reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2023, where she lost to Czech Marketa Vondrousova.
