The next opponent of the Ukrainian is Haddad Maya from Brazil
Lesya Tsurenko came out in quarterfinal WTA 500 series tournament Eastbourne. In the match of the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainian tennis player beat Magdu Lynette from Poland.
The fight lasted two and a half hours. In the decisive third set, Tsurenko lost 3:5, but made two breaks and got the victory – 7:5.
For the entire match, Lesya converted five of the eight breakpoints, giving Lynette four games on her serve. The Ukrainian also made five double faults.
In the 1/4 finals, Tsurenko will play with Brazilian representative Beatriz Haddad Maya. Note that this will be the first quarter-final for the Ukrainian this season.
Recall that Tsurenko entered the main draw of the tournament in Eastbourne, defeating Kimberly Birrell and Heather Watson in qualifying. In the 1/32 finals, Lesya defeated Colombian Maria Camila Osorio Seranno, and in the 1/16 finals, Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan.
