In her first match, Kasatkina, who is ranked 14th in the world rankings, beat Belgium’s Elise Mertens, who is ranked 29th in the WTA rankings, 6:4, 6:2. In the first set, the match was suspended due to rain, when the score was 4:4.
In the next round, Daria Kasatkina will face the winner of the match between Russian Anna Blinkova and Chinese Zhang Shuai.
