The Ukrainian-Latvian duet beat the representatives of Great Britain
Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok and Elena Ostapenko left Latvia for semi-final doubles tournament series WTA 500 in Eastbourne.
In the 1/4 final match, the Ukrainian-Latvian couple beat the British duo Heather Watson and Harriet Dart. The fight lasted an hour and 20 minutes.
Kichenok and Ostapenko converted four out of eight breakpoints, fired six aces and made three double faults.
In the semi-finals, Lyudmila and Elena will play against the Chinese pair Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan. The fight is scheduled for June 24th.
For Ostapenko it was the second match of the day. Earlier, Elena defeated Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina in the quarterfinals of the singles tournament in Eastbourne.
Last week, Kichenok and Ostapenko won the doubles tournament in Birmingham. This is their first joint WTA title.
