In her opening match, Potapova managed to win with a score of 1:6, 6:4, 7:5 on the 161st racket in the world, Swiss tennis player Celine Nef (WC). The duration of the match was 2 hours and 6 minutes. During the fight, Potapova converted five out of a possible eight break points, hit six aces and committed four double faults. Céline Nef, in turn, had three aces, committed four double faults and converted 5 break points out of 11.

In the next round of the Cincinnati tournament, Anastasia Potapova will face the winner of the duel between Czech tennis players Marketa Vondrousova (10) and Kateryna Sinyakova.
