Kostyuk lost in the first round of the doubles tournament in Cincinnati

The Ukrainian tandem with the Frenchwoman Garcia lost to the Czech-Croatian duo Pliskova-Vekic

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk and a Frenchwoman Carolyn Garciawho played together for the first time, failed to qualify for the second round of the doubles tournament WTA 1000 in American cincinnati.

The tandem of the third racket of Ukraine and the sixth racket of the world was stopped by the duo Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) – Donna Vekic (Croatia). The uncompromising fight lasted three sets and took almost an hour and a half.

In the first game, Kostyuk and Garcia lost with a score of 4:6. But in the second set, starting with the score 0:2, they took four games in a row. In the decisive round, however, the Czech-Croatian duo managed to take over.

Recall that earlier Kostyuk completed her performances in Cincinnati in singles. Today, the strongest racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina withdrew from the same tournament due to injury. At the same time, Angelina Kalinina was able to break into the second round.
