Organizers US Open 2023 announced the names of the owners wild card to the women’s tournament. Invitations received Caroline Wozniacki And Venus Williams.
Wozniacki returned to the Tour in early August after a 3-year pause in her professional career. The Dane reached the US Open final twice in 2009 and 2014. Williams, 43, won the US Open singles title twice, in 2000 and 2001.
In total, 8 athletes were invited to the main draw of the US Open women’s tournament. In addition to Wozniacki and Williams, Ashlyn Kruger (USA), Robin Montgomery (USA), Kayla Day (USA), Clervie Ngunue (USA), Storm Hunter (Australia) and Fiona Ferro (France) received invitations.
Five Ukrainian tennis players – Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko and Kateryna Beindl – were included in the application list of the US Open 2023 main draw.
The US Open will run from August 28 to September 10. The US Open 2023 prize pool will be $65 million.
