Italian tennis player Yannick Sinner and norwegian Casper Ruud failed to reach the third round of the Masters Series tournament in Cincinnati.
Sinner, who received the eighth seed, lost to Serbian Dusan Lajovic. The match lasted 2 hours 4 minutes and ended with the score 6:4, 7:6 (7:4) in favor of Lajovic.
Ruud (5th seed) was beaten by Australian Max Purcell – 4:6, 6:3, 4:6. The athletes spent 1h59 on the field.
Sinner won the Masters last week in Toronto.
In the next round, Purcell will face match winner Francis Tiafoe (USA, 10) – Stanislas Wawrinka (Switzerland), Lajovic will meet American Taylor Fritz (9th seed).
