The draw for the first round of the main draw of the Grand Slam tournament has already taken place.
The lot of Wimbledon 2022 has been in favor of Ukrainian tennis players. All four of our representatives, who will participate in the main draw of the Grand Slam tournament, did not compete in the favorites of the competition.
Ukraine’s first racket Angelina Kalinina, who she also seeded in the tournament, will start the match against the world’s 62nd racket Anna Bondar from Hungary.
Dayana Yastremska in the first round was Anna Bogdan from Romania, who is now ranked 109th in the WTA rankings.
Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko have to play with the owners of the courts – Katie Swan and Jody Barrage, respectively. The first currently occupies 223rd spot in the ranking, and the second is 169th.
At the same time, if Kalinina and Tsurenko win their opening matches against Wimbledon, then in the second round they will play against each other.
