In the final of the qualification, Ilya beat the American Kumar for the second time in a month
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko made it to the main draw of the ATP 250 tournament in Winston-Salem, USA.
Marchenko defeated Omni Kumar from the USA in the qualifying final. The fight lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes.
In the first set, the opponents went game-by-game for a long time. However, with the score 5:4, the Ukrainian managed to outright beat the opponent on his serve. In the second installment, Ilya took the lead 4:1, but Kumar showed character and took three games in a row. The ending was repeated in carbon copy: success on someone else’s pitch and the final victory.
For our tennis player, the victory over Omni Kumar was the second in less than a month – we recall that Marchenko has already knocked the American out of the tournament grid in Salinas.
