Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic shared his emotions after the victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the “Masters” series of tennis tournaments in Cincinnati.
The Serb beat the world’s leading racket with the score 5:7, 7:6 (9:7), 7:6 (7:4). The match lasted 3 hours 49 minutes. Immediately after the decisive draw, 36-year-old Djokovic tore his T-shirt out of emotion.
– Madness. To be honest, I don’t know what else to say. It’s hard to describe the feeling. Definitely one of the toughest matches I’ve ever played in my life, regardless of tournament, category, level, player. It’s incredible.
All in all, this is one of the toughest and most exciting matches I’ve ever been in, and it’s moments and matches like this that I continue to work towards every day. I never doubted that I could show the game perfectly when it matters most, and I’m just thrilled,” Djokovic told the ATP press service.
After winning the Masters final in Cincinnati, Djokovic narrowed the gap with Alcaraz in the ATP rankings to 20 points.
