Ukrainian tennis players started in US Open qualifiers. Dayana Yastremskaya managed to reach the semi-finals of the selection, and Katharina Zawatskaya lost her duel.
Dayana defeated the Englishwoman Heather Watson in two sets – 6:3, 6:2. Katarina in a tense struggle lost to Anna Bondar from Hungary – 6:7, 4:6.
The next opponent of Yastremskaya will be Canadian Eugenie Bouchard.
Recall that yesterday the representatives of Ukraine recognized their rivals in the qualification of the US Open-2023.
Five Ukrainian tennis players – Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko and Kateryna Beindl – were included in the application list of the US Open 2023 main draw.
The US Open will run from August 28 to September 10. The US Open 2023 prize pool will be $65 million.
