Multiple American Grand Slam winner Serena Williams gave birth to a second daughter, the athlete’s husband Alexis Ohanyan said.
The girl’s name was Adira River.
— I am happy to report that our house is united by love, a healthy newborn girl and a happy mother! Thank you Serena! You have given me another incomparable gift.
Thank you to all the wonderful medical staff who took care of my wife and daughter,” Ohanyan wrote on social media.
Williams and Ohanian have a daughter, Olympia, born in the fall of 2017.
The American is second in the number of Grand Slam singles wins (23), just behind Margaret Court (24). Williams is a four-time Olympic champion, winner of 73 WTA tournaments.
The 41-year-old retired in 2022.
