Ukrainian tennis players Alexey Krutykh And Vitaly Sachko lost in the opening qualifying matches US Open 2023.
Alexey lost in two sets to Kevin Andersen from South Africa. The Ukrainian lost to the US Open-2017 finalist by one of his own serves in each set. Note that Anderson announced his retirement last year, but returned to big sport in July.
Sachko lost to the Italian Raul Brancaccio. In the first game, the Ukrainian missed four set points, and then lost in a tie-break. In the second set, Vitaly took the lead with a break, but did not keep the advantage and lost the match.
There are no more Ukrainian players left in the US Open-2023 men’s bracket. In the women’s category, Dayana Yastremskaya continues to compete in the qualification, while Katarina Zavatskaya and Yulia Starodubtseva left the tournament. Five more Ukrainians will start the competition from the main draw of the American Major.
