The Ukrainian lost in two sets to Elena-Gabriela Ruse from Romania. In the first game, Dayana bounced back with a score of 2:5, but eventually lost in a tie-break. In the second set, the Ukrainian gave up two of her serves, managing to compensate for only one break.
In qualifying, Yastremska was seeded 12th. The Ukrainian at the tournament beat the British Heather Watson and the Canadian Eugenie Bouchard.
Earlier, Katarina Zavatskaya, Yulia Starodubtseva and Daria Snigur, as well as Aleksey Krutykh and Vitaliy Sachko left the qualification of the American tournament of the Grand Slam series.
Five Ukrainian tennis players – Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko and Kateryna Beindl – were included in the application list of the US Open 2023 main draw, which will be held from August 28 to September 10. The US Open 2023 prize pool will be $65 million.
