President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev believes that Andrei Rublev will be able to prove itself at the next US Open.
In the first round, Rublev will face Finnish representative Emil Ruusuvuori, whom he had already lost in the second round of the Masters Series tournament in Cincinnati. The match will take place on August 29.
– Rublev could benefit from the fact that he flew out in the first round of both Masters. Andrey needed a short break from tennis to get going again. There are no worries about his form ahead of the US Open. He should reach the quarter-finals, and then how it goes. There is a feeling this US Open could be a breakthrough for Andrey, Tarpishchev told RB Sport.
The tournament’s main draw matches will be held in New York from August 28 through September 10.
