Former Serbian world ranking leader Novak Djokovic said he was unsure if he could play the US Open as he confirmed he would not be taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
“As of today, I am not allowed to enter the United States under these circumstances. I am aware of this and it is an additional motivation to do well at Wimbledon and I hope I can do a very good tournament, as I have done in the last three tournaments.
I would like to go to the United States. But today it is not possible. I can’t do much. The US government must decide whether or not to allow unvaccinated people to enter the country, cites Djokovic Eurosport .
Djokovic was kicked out of Australia on the eve of the Australian Open earlier this year because the tennis player failed to meet local government vaccination requirements.
