Kvitova beat Ostapenko and won the WTA tournament in Eastbourne

Today Elena will play in the doubles final

Petra Kvitova became the winner of the WTA 500 series tournament in Eastbourne. In the final, the Czech defeated Elena Ostapenko from Latvia.

Tennis players spent an hour and 17 minutes on the court. Petra converted three breakpoints without losing a single game to her opponent on her serve. Kvitova also made seven aces (Ostapenko had five).

Kvitova won the first WTA tournament since March 2021, when she excelled in Doha. In total, Petra won the 29th WTA title in her career.

Ostapenko won the Eastbourne tournament last year. In total, Elena has five WTA titles.

Today Ostapenko and Ukraine’s Lyudmila Kichenok will play against Alexandra Krunic from Serbia and Magda Lynette from Poland in the doubles final of the tournament in Eastbourne. Estimated start of the meeting is at 18:00 Kyiv time.

Ukrainians Angelina Kalinina and Lesya Tsurenko left the tournament in Eastbourne at the 1/4 finals, Marta Kostyuk lost in the 1/8 finals, and Dayana Yastremska – in the first round match.
