Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev reacted with humor to the loss of the third set in the second round match of the US Open against Australian Christopher O’Connell.
The Russian, seeded under the third number, won two sets with the score 6:2, 6:2, and in the third set he lost in the tiebreak. After the end of the third set, Medvedev called a doctor on the court, a woman and a man approached him. The woman asked him if he had any symptoms, to which the tennis player replied jokingly: “Yes, I lost the set. Give me what you gave him (O’Connell).”
Medvedev won the match with the score 6:2, 6:2, 6:7 (6:8), 6:2 and in the third round of the US Open will play with Argentinian Sebastian Baez.
