Marta Kostyuk will not play for the national team in the near future. The Ukrainian tennis player spoke about this in an interview with Big Tennis of Ukraine.
According to the athlete, his decision was influenced by the situation in the Tennis Federation. At the same time, Kostyuk is not against representing Ukraine at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
“My plans for the end of the season are to play San Diego, Guadalajara, Japan and China. Looking at the results, if I do well somewhere, I might miss a week, but for now the plan is finish the season in China.
Due to the situation at FTU, I have no plans to play for the national team this year and, probably, I won’t be able to play next year either. Olympics? As far as I know, I fulfilled the criteria for performances there and, of course, it is in my plans for next year,” said Kostyuk.
Recall that Kostyuk had an unsuccessful start at the US Open, ending his performances after the first round.
