Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) Vice-President Alexei Selivanenko called the victory a natural Andrei Rublev on the French Gael Monfils in the second round match of the US Open.
The meeting took place on Thursday and ended with the score 6:4, 6:3, 3:6, 6:1 in favor of Rublev.
– Andrey confidently held the meeting. Gaël is always unpredictable, the audience loves him, with him you always have to be ready for every turn of the game. But Andrey is now always both physically stronger and functionally stronger, so, in principle, such a result is usually logic,” quotes RB Sport Selivanenko.
Rublev’s next opponent at the US Open will be Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech. The match will take place on Saturday, September 2.
