“Medvedev lost to De Minor in Canada, but this match does not reflect reality” – Olkhovsky

Soviet-Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky spoke about the upcoming match of the 1/8 rounds of the US Open, in which the third racket in the world is Russian. Daniel Medvedev will face the Australian Alex De Minor.

On Sunday, Russian Daniil Medvedev reached the fourth round of the US Open beating Argentina’s Sebastian Baes 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6).

– Daniil lost against De Minor in Canada (0:2 during the Toronto tournament in August – editor’s note), but this match does not reflect the reality of the game. During the Grand Slam tournament, the format is different: five sets. Daniil feels more confident on the pitch than in Canada. I hope the result will be the other way, but De Minor is quite a serious opponent, – quotes the words of Olkhovsky “Championship”.

The match between Medvedev and De Minor will take place on Monday, September 4.
