There are no more representatives of Ukraine left at the tournament
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk paired with a Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse lost the 1/8 final match doubles US Open-2023.
The Ukrainian-Romanian duo gave way to the American tandem Coco Gauff / Jessica Pegula, seeded at the tournament under the third number.
In the first set, Kostyuk and Ruse lost the second and third innings, but with a score of 1:5, they managed to make a comeback, taking three games in a row. With the score 4:5, Marta and her partner did not convert a break point, and as a result, the game was won by the athletes from the USA. The second set was easier for the favorites – 6:1.
Kostyuk and Ruse met with American rivals for the third time in a year. In all cases, Gauff and Pegula were stronger – first at the WTA tournament in Madrid, then at Roland Garros.
Marta reached the third round of the US Open for the third time in a row. The year before last, she performed here in tandem with Dayana Yastremskaya, last year with Chinese Zhang Shuai.
After the departure of Kostyuk at the US Open Tennis Championship, there were no representatives of Ukraine left. The tournament will end on September 10th.
