Ukrainian in the capital of Japan won the fifth victory in a row
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Volodko reached the semi-finals of the W100 tournament in Tokyo.
She defeated Arianna Hartono of the Netherlands, who is 71 positions higher in the WTA rankings, in straight sets. The meeting lasted an hour and 18 minutes.
The beginning of the fight was marked by two long draws. Hartono initially kept on a par with the Ukrainian, but gradually Katerina began to realize the advantage. The set ended in her favor 6:3, and she played the second game even more confidently.

At the moment, Volodko again confronts Hartono – now in doubles (1/8 finals). The Ukrainian performs in a duet with the Indian Ankita Rayna, the Dutch performs with the Chinese Yu Xiaodi.
For the right to reach the singles final, Katerina will fight with the Swiss Victoria Golubich, seeded at the tournament under the 7th number.
