“At first I thought about negative things, like why is there so much pressure, why is it so difficult. I understand that in a way it’s pressure, but it’s not I mean, there are people who do their best to feed their families, people who don’t know where they will find food next, people who have to pay their bills.
It’s real pressure, it’s real hardship, it’s real life. I am in a very privileged position. I get paid to do what I love and I get support to do what I love. I have a happy life so I should enjoy it. I know there are millions of people who probably want to be where I am right now. So instead of saying “Why this, why that?” I should just say, “Why not me?” “Why don’t I like it?” ” I have to. That’s why this is just an opportunity to put your life in perspective and realize how grateful I am to you,” Andscape quotes Gauff.
