Athletistic/Tennis. World number 6 Yannick Sinner has announced he will not play for Italy in the Davis Cup group stage.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to recover from the American tournament series, so, alas, I won’t be able to play for Italy in Bologna. It’s always a great honor to play for our country and I’m sure I’ll be back to the national team soon, I wish the guys good luck, see you soon,” Sinner wrote on social media.
The 2023 Davis Cup group stage will take place from September 12-17. Italy will face Canada, Sweden and Chile in Group A.
