Medvedev says he paid attention to star spectators during match against Alcaraz at US Open

Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev said he couldn’t help but think that a lot of celebrities were watching his match against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open semi-final.

In the semifinals, the Russian athlete defeated the Spaniard with a score of 7:6 (7:3), 6:1, 3:6, 6:3.

– That’s right, many celebrities were constantly shown. I tried to concentrate, but I kept thinking, “Who is there?” Who’s next?”

I think I saw everyone who was there, and some of them were really big stars. It’s good to see people enjoying tennis. It’s incredible because it’s a sport that I love.

I usually see them on TV, I know some of them, I’m a fan of some of them… It’s great that they are enjoying such a wonderful match,” Medvedev said during a press conference.

Medvedev will face Serbian Novak Djokovic in the US Open decider. This match will be the 15th between the tennis players. Medvedev currently has five head-to-head victories, while 23-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic has nine. The Russian beat the Serbian in straight sets in the 2021 US Open final.
