The world’s first racket Carlos Alcaraz will not participate in the group stage of the final Davis Cup tournament, the tournament press service reports.
The Spanish tennis player will be replaced in the national team by Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
On Saturday night, Alcaraz lost to the Russian Daniel Medvedev in the semi-final of the US Open in four sets 6:7 (3:7), 1:6, 6:3, 3:6.
The Spanish national team will play in Group C of the Davis Cup with teams from the Czech Republic, Serbia and South Korea.
The tournament will take place in Valencia from September 12 to 17.
