Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenko For the first time in her career, she topped the Women’s Tennis Association rankings, an updated version of which was published on the organization’s website.
Sabalenka reached the US Open final last week, where she lost to American Cori Gauff. Despite the defeat, the 25-year-old Belarusian defeated the Polish Iga Szwiatek and became the first racket in the world.
19-year-old Gauff, after winning the US Open, rose to third place for the first time in her career.
Russia’s first racket remains Daria Kasatkina, who occupies 12th place.
